Rockpipers in Westport, WA (11/11/2008)

A spontaneous trip to the rainy WA coast found us stopping over on Svenson Island for a Tropical Kingbird. We then spent a full day getting lost near Leadbetter Point, with Circus requiring emergency treatment for several 100 porcupine quills that had plastered his head. On the final day, we studied rockpipers at the Westpost jetty. There were a total of 23 (!!!) Rock Sandpipers.

A surely odd look at a Rock Sandpiper.

There also were several Surfbirds and Black Turnstones.
